Smyth stamped on front paste-down: possibly from the library of Ellison Adger Smyth (1847-1942), South Carolina textile mill owner known as The Pioneer for his innovations in mill technology and progressive SC legislation. He retired to Connemara in Flat Rock, NC. Cover shows minor shelf-wear; occasional foxing on otherwise clean, cream-colored text pages. Illustration plates protected with tissue paper.
