This pamphlet was broken out of a bound book of pamphlets. May have some glue residue at spine, toning or cockling. No writing or markings in the text. C. G. Memminger was a lawyer from South Carolina who advocated secession after the election of Lincoln. He was appointed by SC to articulate in a proclamation the reasons for secession, and was also sent as a special commissioner to address the state legislature of Virginia to solicit their support. Ten thousand copies of the speech recorded in this pamphlet were commanded by the VA legislature to be circulated among the people of the state to inform them of the cause. C. G. Memminger retired to Flat Rock, NC. Full refund if not satisfied.
