This size Bible is called quatro. Phinney published quatro Bibles from 1822 until 1848. The later 1828 Cooperstown edition of this H. & E. Phinney Bible was the one that the founder of Mormonism (Joseph Smith) used in his new translation of the Scriptures. In earlier years James Fenimore Cooper learned type setting at the Phinney publishing business. Full leather, original red leather label, corners and spine heavily worn with 2 x 3 inch piece of leather missing from tail of spine, inner hinges black taped, textblock split (but holding strong by ties), a few page gatherings pulled, a half dozen pages crudely repaired around edges with a few verses and marginal references consequently covered and illegible, Full refund if not satisfied.
