Collected daily publications of Joseph Addison and Richard Steele between 1711-1714. Full brown leather covers. Black leather spine labels with gilt lettering. The only indication that this set was formerly in the Westport CT library is the bookplates inside the front cover. No other library spore. Boards shows modest wear with some wear-through on corners. The leather is clean and glossy. Spine leather and some labels chipping (vol 4 missing half of label). Some volumes have cracked hinges but none are fragile or separating. Each volume has previous owner's name written on flyleaf. Pages foxed/tanned. Printed on crisp, sturdy laid paper. Engraved frontispiece caused acid stain on opposing pages. Vol IV has a few minor tears within the text. All volumes are square and tightly bound. This is a handsome, uniform set. Additional shipping costs may apply because of item weight. Full refund if not satisfied.
