A collection of stories and experiences of clergymen, such as Father Clemens of Alexandria, who warned his wig-wearing church members that the benediction would stay on their false hair and would fail to penetrate and bless the wearer! This copy belonged to E. E. Bomar, who was the pastor of several different First Baptist churches in Western NC during the 1920s (Hendersonville, Landrum, Tryon, Columbus). Maroon cloth with marbled paper-cased boards. Gilt lettering to spine. Covers show light wear. Marbled paper is slightly chipping on front board and corners are open. Fore and tail edges deckled. Interior hinges cracked but binding is tight. Foxing/penciled name on endleaves. Text is clean and unmarked but a few pages have creased corner. An attractive volume, and a great gift for a minister. Full refund if not satisfied.
