Elwood Fisher was a Virginia-born Quaker who was raised anti-slavery, but later defended the South's cause in this famous pamphlet. He compares the Southern evil of slavery to the Northern problems of poverty and crime resulting from an industrialized society, claiming that for the North to insist on the abolition of slavery would be the same as the South insisting on the abolition of manufacturing. Some discoloration. Full refund if not satisfied.
