The letters describe camp life and various events that occurred during the Civil War. Newt Martin was an officer in Kershaw's brigade, and later gained prominence as a textile mill owner, civic leader, and bank president in Newberry, SC. The letters are copied in purple ink with a handwritten title page. Spiral bound with heavy cardstock boards. Interior may have minor foxing/toning. Boards may be lightly worn/soiled.
