An American, Calvinist publication published in Hartford, Connecticut with Presbyterian references. Per the preface: "The distinct object of the proposed Magazine will be to explain and defend the system of revealed truth commonly denominated as Calvinistic." This is an association copy of one of the editors, Isaac Parsons, to whom the bookplate belongs, affixed to the front pastedown. Burgundy cloth with original leather spine label stamped in gilt lettering. Indexed. viii, 464 pp.

In addition to articles, issues also include reviews, ordinations, memoirs, and pastoral letters and sermons such as: "Concio Ad Clerum: A Sermon Delivered in the Chapel of Yale College, on the Evening of August 15, 1832" by Timothy Tuttle, Pastor of a Church in Groton, Connecticut; and "Pastoral Letter: The General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in the United States, to the Ministers and Churches Under Their Care" by Moderator James Hoge. CONDITION:General external wear and rubbing with sunned spine. Moderately foxed throughout, yet unmarked. Hinges are strong and binding is sound. Bookplate affixed to the front pastedown by one of the editors, Isaac Parsons. A very readable copy filled with doctrinal insights of Calvinistic Theology. Full refund if not satisfied. Very Good.
