Illustrated cover against a purple background. Eight brightly full color and beautiful illustrations throughout. Each plate is accompanied by four pages of lessons for children drawn from the animal depicted and paginated separately. Text is large print. Advertisements from the publisher within endpapers. 32 pages.
Covers quite rubbed, edges little worn, printed paper over the boards worn, with small piece missing on back cover. Textblock has detached from the backstrip, yet present. The eight plates are bright and in good condition. Child's name and address in pencil, dated Dec 62 (1862?). The publication date given above is an estimate only, there being no date given in the book. Even with its flaws, this is a whimsical little antiquarian children's book, full of adventure for today's children to discover and gently enjoy. Full refund if not satisfied. Fair Condition.
