As a member of the Long Parliament, he became an outspoken critic of the conduct of its affairs... he was a strong opponent of religious factionalism, and was imprisoned in the Tower of London, where he died without being brought to trial. He used the pseudonym Theodorus Verax (taken from wikipedia). 5 volumes bound as 1 with continuous pagination. Book 5: The High Court of Justice, or Cromwells New Slaughterhouse in England... [1-2] 3-71 pp. Published 1651. This book is in very good condition for its age. Full leather with 4 raised bands.
