Spine is adorned with raised leather bands and stamped gilt lettering. All edges gilt. Cover shows wear with some rubbing and scuffed corners and edges, particularly on the foot, (which also shows light tearing). There is a crack approximately halfway up the front inner hinge, yet the binding is solid and tight. Endpapers are marbled in dark gold and grayish green color themes. Leaves are in very nice condition and have evenly toned with very light foxing throughout. No marginalia or annotations Errata included on page 516. Work of Protestant theology by Jean-Henri Grandpierre (1799-1874) of Swiss origin and naturalized French. He was director of the Society of Evangelical Missions founded in 1824 in Paris, then in 1844 Pastor of the Reformed Church of Batignolles. This book is devoted to the first 5 books of the Bible, or "The Pentateuch". A very nice copy. Full refund if not satisfied. FRENCH TRANSLATION: Écrit en français. Couverture rigide. Reliure demi-reliée, cuir marron et papier marbré avec coutures bordées dorées. Le dos est orné de bandes de cuir en relief et d'un lettrage doré estampé. Toutes tranches dorées. La couverture montre une usure avec quelques frottements et coins et bords éraflés, en particulier sur le pied, (qui montre également une légère déchirure). Il y a une fissure approximativement à mi-hauteur de la charnière intérieure avant, mais la reliure est solide et serrée. Les pages de garde sont marbrées dans des thèmes de couleur or foncé et vert grisâtre. Les feuilles sont en très bon état et ont des tons uniformes avec de très légères rousseurs partout.
