"Bibliorum Sacrorum Graecus Codex Vaticanus Auspice Pio IX. Pontifice Maximo" is the formal Latin title of a major 19th-century facsimile edition of the Codex Vaticanus, one of the oldest and most important surviving manuscripts of the Greek Bible.
This was the first substantial printed reproduction of the Codex Vaticanus, which had been held in the Vatican Library since at least the 15th century and was notoriously difficult for scholars to access fully before modern photography and digitization.
This copy was reproduced by Brown and Thomas of Detroit, Michigan in 1982 from a copy which belonged to the personal library of Kenneth I. Brown. Bound in a dark hunter green publisher's cloth, covers are plain with gilt lettering on the spine. Codex is in three columns per page on off-white paper. Scripture references are along the bottom of each page. 284 pp.
CONDITION: External cover shows minor shelf wear. Hinges are strong and the binding is quite sound. Pages are unmarked except for previous owner's name written in the front flyleaf, and annotation from that owner on the back pastedown in pencil. A solid, very nice copy well equipped for rigorous study. Full refund if not satisfied. Very Good.
