Daniel Rowland Llangeitho (1713-1790)(Second Edition)

Llandysul: Gwasg Gomer (Gomer Press), 1938. Second Edition. Written in Welsh. This book is a detailed cofiant (Welsh biographical memoir) of Daniel Rowland (or Rowlands), one of the leading figures of the 18th-century Welsh Methodist Revival alongside Howell Harris and William Williams Pantycelyn. Rowland served as an Anglican curate in Llangeitho, Cardiganshire (Ceredigion), where his powerful preaching drew thousands of people, making the village a key center ("Mecca") of Welsh Calvinistic Methodism.

Bound in purplish-blue publisher's cloth, cover bears debossed text box with gilt lettering. Spine is also lettered in gilt. Illustrated occasionally throughout with black and white photographic plates. Frontispice is a picture of "Capel Llangeitho". List of sources at the back. 221 pp.

CONDITION: Moderate external wear with bumped corners. Cocked, sunned spine. Leaves are bright with occasional discoloration mark. Several open tears along the foredge but does not compromise text. A solid copy. Full refund if not satisfied. Very Good.
